Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse De Lalande, Reserve De La Comtesse 2009.
The company is located in Pauillac and currently has 74 hectares under production, with 50% dedicated to the first wine and the other half to the second wine.
The latter is the subject of our review. Since 2017, it has been called Pichon Comtesse Reserve, typically a blend of young vines and specific parcels. The 2009 vintage is significant because, starting that year, the company underwent major investments. This vintage is characterized by:
- 75% Cabernet Sauvignon
- 20% Merlot
- 5% Petit Verdot
Despite its 15 years, the wine still boasts a vibrant fruit profile, which is remarkably20 present and sharp.
The notes feature red fruit with balsamic nuances and a subtle toasted hint in the background.
The palate is vibrant, with an incredibly lively and energetic core. The tannins are still present. It is deep and long, with a zesty touch of sapidity in the finish. Rating: 96
